As of July 1st, the patent management system of the European Patent Office will be adjusted.
As of July 1, 2024, the European Patent Office (EPO) will discontinue a range of old tools and services and launch the new MyEPO system. After the launch of the new system, users can apply for certified copies of documents free of charge.
Since launching its first online filing tool in 2001, the EPO has been committed to modernizing and fully digitizing the patent granting process. It has added new tools and functions, replaced old tools and features, and redesigned functions to create a set of services that support streamlined, user-friendly and interactive processes.
In June 2022, with the launch of MyEPO Portfolio, the EPO introduced a new approach to online user services, which seamlessly integrates the full range of MyEPO services. MyEPO services now cover the entire patent granting process of the EPO and set a world-class benchmark in digital patent services.
Users of MyEPO Portfolio will be exempt from registration fees when filing European patent applications or registering patent assignments and licenses.
